Ah, Lovely! does not provide medical, psychological treatment, diagnosis, or clinical therapy through this website or through colour analysis services
4. Why I use your personal data
I only use your personal data when I have a valid reason to do so under the GDPR/AVG. The reason depends on how you interact with Ah, Lovely!.
If you contact me with a question or enquiry, I use your name, contact details, and message content to respond to you. This is based on my legitimate interest in replying to enquiries and, where your enquiry relates to a possible booking, taking steps before entering into a contract.
If you book a colour analysis session, duo session, workshop, or corporate event, I use your personal data to arrange and provide the service. This may include your name, email address, phone number, booking details, session preferences, payment details, and any relevant information you choose to share with me. This processing is necessary to perform the agreement between us.
If you attend a colour analysis session or workshop, I may record limited notes that are relevant to the service, such as your colour season, undertone, palette, recommendations, or style-related goals. I use this information to provide the service and, where relevant, to refer back to your results if you contact me afterwards.
If you make a payment or receive an invoice, I use your personal and payment details to process the payment, create invoices, and keep business records. This is necessary to perform the agreement and to comply with legal obligations, including Dutch tax administration requirements.
If you sign up for my newsletter, I use your email address, name if provided, and newsletter preferences to send you updates, inspiration, offers, or information about Ah, Lovely!. I only send newsletters based on your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time.
If you visit my website, I may use technical and analytics data to keep the website secure, understand how visitors use the site, and improve the website and services. Necessary cookies are used because they are required for the website to function. Analytics or marketing cookies are only used where permitted by law and, where required, with your consent.
If you give a testimonial, review, photo, or video, I will only use it for marketing or promotional purposes with your permission. You can withdraw this permission at any time.
If necessary, I may also use personal data to protect my legal rights, prevent misuse of the website, handle disputes, or comply with legal obligations.
5. Cookies and website analytics
This website uses cookies and similar technologies.
Cookies are small files placed on your device when you visit a website. Some cookies are necessary for the website to function. Others may be used for analytics, marketing, or embedded services.
Necessary cookies
Necessary cookies are used to:
Make the website work properly
Keep the website secure
Remember basic preferences
Enable forms, bookings, or checkout functions where used
These cookies do not require prior consent.
Analytics and performance cookies
Analytics cookies may be used to understand how visitors use the website, such as which pages are visited and how people move through the site.
Where required, these cookies will only be placed after you give consent through the cookie banner.
Marketing or tracking cookies
If marketing or tracking cookies are used, they will only be placed after your consent.
In the Netherlands, functional cookies can generally be placed without consent, but tracking cookies and some analytics cookies require consent.
6. Third-party services and processors
I may use trusted service providers to operate the website and business. These providers may process personal data on my behalf.
These may include:
Squarespace for website hosting, forms, analytics, and website functionality
Calendly for appointments
Stripe or Tikkie for payments
Squarespace Email Campaigns for newsletters
Google Workspace for email communication
An accounting software for financial administration
Google cloud storage for secure document storage
Social media platforms, such as Instagram, if you interact with Ah, Lovely! there.
Squarespace states that Squarespace sites use visitor data to operate correctly, and that analytics, cookies, payment processors, forms, fonts, and third-party integrations may involve visitor data depending on how the site is configured.
7. International data transfers
Some service providers may process data outside the European Economic Area.
Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, I rely on appropriate safeguards where required, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent data protection mechanisms.
Squarespace states that it uses safeguards including European Commission and UK Standard Contractual Clauses for certain international transfers.
8. How long I keep your personal data
I do not keep personal data longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, unless I am legally required to keep it for longer.
If you contact me with an enquiry but do not book a session or service, I usually keep your message and contact details for up to 12 months after our last contact. This allows me to respond properly if you follow up later.
If you book or attend a colour analysis session, duo session, workshop, or corporate event, I keep your contact details, booking details, and relevant service information for up to 2 years after the last session or contact. This allows me to provide follow-up support, refer back to your colour analysis result, and maintain accurate client records.
If I make notes about your colour season, undertone, palette, recommendations, or style-related goals, I keep these notes for up to 2 years, unless you ask me to delete them earlier and I do not have a legal reason to keep them.
If you attend a workshop or event, I keep participant details for up to 12 months after the event, unless a longer period is necessary for administration, follow-up, or legal reasons.
If you sign up for my newsletter, I keep your email address and subscription details until you unsubscribe or withdraw your consent. I may keep a record of your consent for as long as necessary to show that the subscription was lawful.
If you provide a testimonial, review, photo, or video, I keep and use it until you withdraw your permission or until I no longer use the content.
If you make a payment or receive an invoice, I keep invoice and financial administration records for 7 years, because this is required under Dutch tax law.
Website analytics data and cookie data are kept according to the settings of the website and analytics tools used, and no longer than necessary for the purpose for which they were collected.
When personal data is no longer needed, I will delete it or anonymise it where possible.
9. How I protect your personal data
I take appropriate measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
These measures may include:
Password-protected accounts
Secure website hosting
Limited access to personal data
Use of trusted service providers
Secure storage of client and business records
Regular review of data that is no longer needed
No digital system is completely risk-free, but I aim to use proportionate and appropriate safeguards.

Right to access your personal data
Right to correct inaccurate data
Right to delete your data
Right to restrict processing

11. Withdrawal of consent
Where I rely on consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time.
This applies, for example, to:
Newsletter subscriptions
Optional marketing emails
Photos or testimonials
Certain cookies
Any other processing based on consent
Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal.
12. Automated decision-making
Ah, Lovely! does not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects for you.
13. Children’s privacy
This website and my services are not directed at children under 16.
